Greetings in the wonderful name of the Lord Jesus Christ! Summer will soon be here and that will offer the opportunity to minister to children through Vacation Bible School. We will also have representatives from FBC ministering in Alaska, Guatemala, Honduras, and Southeast Asia this summer. It has been noted the strength of a church is not only how many “come in” but also how many are “sent out.” We are also seeing an uptick in the ministry to those in Panola County. “Restoring Hope” continues to minister to 24 families and the “Grace Place” is in the process of raising funds to purchase the property on Pettit Street. Our ministry to those on Monday nights at Celebrate Recovery as well as the Monday night jail ministry is bearing fruit for God’s glory.

The Eighth Symphony of Franz Schubert is sometimes called “The Unfinished Symphony” because it has only two parts instead of the traditional three movements. The book of Acts could well be called the unfinished book. Oh, not in terms of revelation; everything the Holy Spirit intended to be included in our book of Acts is in your Bible. Every word, every syllable, and every truth that God wanted us to have in this book of Acts is there. The revelation is complete. But in terms of the work that is begun in the book of Acts, there is a sense in which the book of Acts is, indeed, an unfinished book. I have been preaching the gospel for almost 42 years. Though I have preached many messages from the Book of Acts, I have never gone through the book consecutively in my preaching. I sense the direction of the Lord to begin this task in May. I am not sure how long it will take us to cover these 28 chapters with interruptions and special occasions. I hope we will glean the truth of the difference the Holy Spirit can make in a church and in a life when we allow Him to have His way.

I love you and thank God for you.
