In the past weeks, Gale has sensed an urgency in her heart to share with others the love that our Father has for us. That sense of urgency has even become more real within the last week or so. In this month’s newsletter she shares her love and sense of urgency to tell other people about the love of our Father.
As Mark and I stood on the banks of a pond in Panola county this past Saturday afternoon supporting a family as workers recovered the body of their 17 year old son, my heart was flooded with so many emotions.
First there was sadness and grief for this father, mother, and brother, but I was overcome with gratitude that I do not have to fear death for I know Jesus as my Savior. However, it wasn’t long that I felt a sense of urgency to tell others about my wonderful Father. There were many people along those banks on that hot and dusty Saturday afternoon. Did they know the one who promised them a life where goodness and mercy would follow them all the days of their lives and eternal life in heaven at the time of their own death?
Jonathan and Shea Garner have sensed that urgency to tell others even more than before Caitlyn’s sickness because they have experienced the uncertainty of what life sometimes brings. Mark and I have sensed that urgency. Bro. Tommy and Randy Willis have felt that urgency as they are in Zambia this week. Bro. John told us Sunday night “It’s Harvest Season.”
The young man who drowned Saturday knew Christ. Caitlyn Garner knows Christ as her Savior. However, there are many around us who do not. May I, may we be intentional in sharing the good news of Jesus Christ. As Mark sang Sunday night, the fields are empty (of workers) and “It is harvest time.” May each of us be known as “workers in the field.”
