Dear Church Family,

We are excited to announce that First Baptist’s Celebrate Recovery will begin weekly meetings again on Monday, April 12, in Lee Chapel.

Meetings will be held at 6:30 p.m. each Monday. The format will be large group worship and instruction, followed by small group support sessions.

Our restart night on April 12 will feature pizza for participants at 6 p.m. Our goal is to have a pizza meal once per month, on the first Monday of each month. Our plans are to offer childcare for children of CR participants beginning June 14.

Please pray for this important ministry and our team. It is indeed a blessing to be able to offer this ministry to our community. We have seen God touch many lives for eternity as we preach the gospel of Jesus Christ through this ministry. Other churches and pastors in the community rely on this ministry as well, and are often able to refer those whom they are counseling to our program.

While CR is particularly important to individuals who are striving to defeat patterns of chemical addiction and substance abuse, this ministry also is used by God to encourage all of us because we all deal with hurts, habits and hangups (produced by walking in the flesh!). CR is a great way to be coached and encouraged to walk in the Spirit. “I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh'” (Gal. 5:16).

Thank you, church family, for your strong support of CR for four years. Continue to pray!

In Christian love,
John
