“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary: and they shall walk, and not faint” (Isaiah 40:31).

It is a blessing of a lifetime to see God moving in so many lives and families. We see the Holy Spirit doing His mighty work of convicting hearts of sin and the need for the salvation God provides through the Lord Jesus Christ, and we are begin- ning to see a harvest of souls. I truly believe that we are only in the beginning stages of a mighty harvest! This work and this harvest is flowing out of many different ministries of our church. Thus, there are many demands for workers to meet these spiritual needs and opportunities.

Servants are stepping forward, and this brings great joy. I’ve never been part of a moving of Spirit of God like the one un- derway in our church. Servants are pouring their passion and energy into many areas of church life and outreach. In fact, there is such an effort being made and such a glorious response to the call to serve, that there are some (perhaps many) who are dealing with fatigue.

This promise from Isaiah (quoted above) should encourage us. The prophets of Israel were given very tough, unpopular messages of judgment to proclaim to God’s people. The prophets, including Isaiah, rarely saw encouraging responses to their hard work of communicating God’s truth. Instead, the faithful prophets were ridiculed, abused, and many were martyred.

This makes the verse above very sweet, and very powerful. Isaiah expectantly placed his trust, his faith, his hope, in Jehovah–and Isaiah found the LORD to be faithful and strong on his behalf. And Isaiah kept going!

In early October we will be sending a church wide email outlining some areas of need in our ministries. This email will also include a way you can respond and let us know of your heart to serve. My experience is this: as you serve Him, God Him- self will give you strength that you have never before experienced and carry you on adventures you never thought you’d have.

It is an honor to serve our Lord Jesus Christ alongside you.

In Christian love, John
