I know you join with me in expressing appreciation to Bro. Mark and Gale for 13 years of service at First Baptist Church. We wish them God’s best as they embark on a new direction in life and ministry. The Lord has granted them His favor in a quick sale of their home and His provision of a job for Gale. They will certainly leave a void at First Baptist Church as they have made their mark on the Batesville community.
I reminded Bro. Mark recently that in 41 years of active ministry, I have worked with him longer than any other staff member. He has
led FBC to have blended worship with multiple instruments without having “worship wars.” The Gaither Sing has always been a highlight for our community in the spring as well as the community-wide Senior Adult Choir. I guess I will miss his cooking at Upward as much as anything. His selfless service over those 8 weeks enabled a number of people to participate on mission trips through scholarships from the proceeds.
Their last Sunday will be Sept. 13, and there will be an opportunity for you to say goodbye to them on that weekend.
