Dear Church Family,
As Bro. Tommy said Sunday morning, “All our plans are written in pencil.” During this time, more than ever, I have learned
to adjust and be flexible as plans have to change frequently. It seems that every week the situation in our state and nation
has changed completely. Especially in Children’s and Youth Ministry, safety measures make planning anything more than a
week in advance difficult, and I have learned that this month!
Because of the increase in cases in our state, we have made the decision to postpone our makeup Vacation Bible School
until September. I do not want to lose the opportunity to host our VBS in person. VBS is such an important part of our
church calendar and a great evangelistic opportunity for our kids! However, at this time, I do not think it would be wise to
bring a large group of children together. Hopefully, in September, we will be able to use the VBS curriculum to share the
gospel with the children of Batesville!
When we are able to return to children’s ministry and VBS, we will implement the necessary safety precautions. We will
check temperatures, implement social distancing, provide hand sanitizer, and eliminate the sharing of supplies. We want to
provide a safe environment for our children to learn about Jesus!
Finally, I want to encourage you to pray for our leaders. Pray for national, state, and local leaders as they wrestle with
difficult decisions that do not have any easy answers. Pray for your church leaders as we struggle to balance our desire to
pursue ministry and the need to keep our church members safe. We need God’s wisdom to guide us during this uncertain
time!
In Christ,
Kyle Brassell
