Happy August Church Family!
How the summer has flown! Our recent children’s camp at Waukaway Springs was amazing! The activities were engaging and the children’s pastor from Pearl, MS did a phenomenal job presenting the gospel and using object lessons to teach God’s Word. The music and games were fun, too! It was a short camp but very fast-paced! Get ready, first graders, you will get to go next year!

Children who are 4 years old on or before September 1, are invited to Children’s Church, beginning August 8. Children’s Church takes place during the 10:30 worship service and is available to children K4-2nd grade. Children who are 4 years old on or before September 1, are invited to Wednesday Missions/Bible Study classes starting on September 8 when we begin our new semester.

Our Wednesday group is called “Kids 4 Christ,” which includes K4-5th graders. We are about to have a new Wednesday night schedule in order for us to have more ministry activities with our children. We will see how it goes and then reassess next summer. Here is the Wednesday schedule for children for our first-semester beginning

September 8:

  • 5-5:30 Supper for kids (this is the date our church fellowship meals begin!)
  • 5:30-6:15 Missions (Group A) * Bible study with Miss Jennifer (Group B)
  • 6:15-7:00 Swap! (Group A goes to Miss Jennifer and Group B goes to Missions)

Groups A and B will be divided by age/grade levels when we see the numbers for Wednesday evenings. Group A will likely be K5-2nd grades, and Group B will likely be 3rd-5th grades. It would help me in my planning if parents would email or text me if you want your child to be a part of the Wednesday nights Kids 4 Christ. Also, please join our children’s ministry REMINDS by texting @fbcbatesv to the number 81010.

Kids who are currently in Kids 4 Christ on Wednesdays are invited to a summer finale pool party on Wednesday, August 4. Invitation and details are on the children’s ministry REMINDS.

As I prepare to teach Acts 9, I am comforted by the fact that no sin is too big for God. Paul hated the followers of Jesus more than anyone, and he went on to become the greatest missionary! Paul was zealous for God. He knew the scriptures. He was a brilliant guy. He knew about God, but he didn’t know God. Wow, that biblical account of Paul’s conversion never gets old. Love to all!

In Christ,
Miss Jennifer
