As September quickly approaches, I want to keep you up to date on the exciting events in children’s ministry! I am grateful our children are returning to dig into God’s word. Sunday School classes are filled with lots of smiling faces, and Children’s Church has grown leaps and bounds!
I am thrilled to announce that our children’s ministries will begin The Gospel Project curriculum in Sunday School, Children’s Church and a mid-week discipleship lesson. I encourage your child to be here for all lessons as they will integrate and each lesson will delve deeper into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and discipleship. The young adults in Todd and Andrea’s class will participate as well as the youth, and I hope this will promote spiritual discussions in the home.
Please circle Wednesday, September 8, on your calendar as we will begin Wednesday night activities in full swing! As of this writing, Miss Jill will begin Wednesday night meals and we will also begin our new children’s classes rotations. Remember, if you plan to eat supper on Wednesdays, you will need to sign up through the church office weekly or be put on the permanent list.
Children who eat here need to do so around 5:00, so they can jump into kid’s ministry at 5:30. (There will be no down time which is a good thing.) Here is our rotation schedule for Wednesday evenings, beginning Sept. 8:
Session 1:
5:30-6:15 p.m.
Group A goes to Worship/Bible class (older group)
1st and 2nd // 3rd-5th
Missions Journey: Kids Adventure (Co-ed RA and GA class)
Group B goes to Missions K4-K5 (Mission Friends)
Session 2:
6:15-7 p.m.
Group A rotates to Missions
Group B rotates to Worship/Bible class
In the spring, our plans are to add children’s choir into the mix. In the beginning it might feel like organized chaos, but I believe God will bless our efforts as we attempt to pour as much into our children as we can. We will see how it flows and reassess next summer!
As you are reading this in ink, please know that we have it written in pencil on our calendars. We are watching the COVID numbers and praying we may move forward with our plans. We pray for our beloved church family to stay healthy physically and spiritually.
Much love to you and your families!
In Christ,
Jennifer Howell (Mark 10:13-15)
