Well, just two more months in this strange year of 2020! It has been my personal goal to go to my Savior with each uncertainty and challenge that has arisen this year. He has been faithful. Jesus Christ truly is “the Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6). That wonderful peace of Christ is always available to settle my heart (and yours!) with each need or anxious thought that arises. And that has been my message this year: Jesus Christ is the answer.
Our Lord has been faithful to this church! We now have most ministries operating again, and we see many spiritual blessings flowing through the ministries of this church. Access to the living Word of God and the transforming truths of God’s Word is available to you through the Bible preaching and teaching ministries of Bro. Tommy and the gifted ministers and teachers that the Father has so graciously provided to serve in our church.
If you are struggling spiritually or in a period of spiritual drift, spiritual apathy or spiritual uncertainly, my word of encouragement to you is from James 4:8a: “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.” The Father desires fellowship with you! It is not His plan for His children to live spiritually malnourished and without joy or purpose. Draw near to Him by spending time with God in His Word. He will speak to you! And there are meaningful ways for you to “draw near to God” in the ministries of First Baptist Church.
